I will not search, "when is the new Apple......(insert product) due out"?, every night!

I'm after a new laptop. I've set my sights on a Mac. Don't want to buy the current version, yet had the current version in my virtual basket every night for the last several weeks.

There are several flaws in my logic, which I recognise.

Anyways, any heads up...appreciated (y)

Cheers.

Just a joke. Never mind. LOL

My advice is, first of all, don't worry about what may be coming out soon. There's always something coming out soon... that's how they get the stupid people to keep buying stuff.

Just get the fastest laptop, with the most memory, and nicest screen you can afford... Mac or PC... in all seriousness... your choice... but stop worrying about it :)

You may also be better off asking the question somewhere there are people better able to advise you... such as a computer forum. Try http://forums.bit-tech.net/

Cheers for that. A mate at work said your first paragraph.

Cheers.

You'll drive yourself mad otherwise. My advice is buy beyond what you need from what's available now (assuming you have the funds). It will last longer and be better value for money in the long run. I built this machine I'm on now 4 years ago, and there's still nothing available to touch it. Laptops tend to have a shorter shelf life though, but it's worth buying the most powerful you can possibly afford, even if it's more powerful than you need.

The government really needs to do more to help these poor people addicted to pouring more and more money into fruit machines :P

The way I look on it is by what's there now not what might be there in a week, a month what ever as you'll always be waiting for something better, it's why I have zero interesting in threads about stuff like the 5D4 or 7D2 I just don't care, okay I did wait a week when I ordered my 5D3 to buy it as I found out it was actually launched when I was just about to buy a 5D2....but that was more a happy coincidence

Hi Andy

I'd suspect around September / October time. The new iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite is due Autumn, so would tie well to the new iPhone and any new / upgrades to Macs etc...

There was talk of upgrades etc earlier in year, but Apple launched a cheaper iMac and revised some prices...

Totally agree with this, but if I was buying at full price (i.e no offers / no discount / sale etc etc) then I think I'd wait a couple of months (if I can) and see what, if anything comes out - if nothing is released, then I would buy what you I was after. If something is released, then I can either buy what I was after initially if at a discount or pay full price as I was going to, but get the latest (and presumably) better spec machine (depending on price being similar)...

Only you can decide how long you want to wait though...

Hope this makes sense and is a help

A
