I've been after this lens for a while now and found a new one in America. It arrived at work Tuesday morning whilst I was away for a few days. I returned today and went to work to collect it. WOW!! What a piece of glass.
The piccie is courtesy of Nokia, so Its not a great shot. But who cares!!

Got the 1.7 converter with it as well. Still cost less than what a UK one would have cost IF Nikon could supply one. which they can't.

When I first got mine it seemed HUGE but you soon get used to the size and believe it or not after a while it won't seem big at all!! You should get a lens coat for it to protect it from little bumps and knocks, keep it looking minty mint. Works ok with the 1.7 as long as there is lots of light for the autofocus and you can close the aperture down to get some sharpness back.
