Hi,
This has occured to me more and more as I have got older, there is so much to do sleep just gets in the way! I noticed particularly when I was ill recently how many TP'ers were on in the small hours.
I think if I could cope with 'Thatcher' sleep of 3-4 hrs and function properly that would do me well. I cope on 5-6 hrs at present. My wife on the other hand cannot survive on less than 8-10 and I am sure she could quite cheerfully spend 12 hrs asleep every night! Seems a compete waste of time to me!

Work and college days I get about 6 hours sleep but on my days off maybe 10-12 hours. We need it. :D

I find that as I get older mature
that I have as much sleep as I need.
I can function on ~ 6 hrs a night, but will also have no problem
sleeping around 10 if the opportunity arises

Ah Ha the yung'uns do that as well then

I held this view for a few years and would skip nights and only sleep 2-3 hours most nights! Ultimately it did me more harm than good tbh.

Sleep still always frustrates me though, it really feels so pointless, if there was a way to never sleep id jump at it!

Worst thing is i work best at night which makes me want to stay up later and later D:

Sleep....ahh something I miss dearly!

You know when you have a little nap when you're knackered and you wake up feeling tireder than when you went to sleep, you were far from comfortable and stuff like that? That's what my sleep is like. I seldom get REM and I really miss proper sleep LOL.

Even if I have a really tough day and spend all day in bed, I don't feel refreshed.

I'm usually awake alot through the night.

My wife would sleep 23 hours a day if she could so that's not unusual :D

The only time i get more 4-6hrs is when i am ill, other then that i am wide awake ready to go felling fully charged, and simply can stay in bed.

Awww poor Mynxie  that must be terrible

Not sure how much sleep I get, probably around 5.5-6 hrs per night. Sometimes after an early shift at work, I'll fall asleep for 1/2 an hour or so during the afternoon or early evening. But then I'm up at 4:00 AM, in the gym by 5:00 AM, workout for an hour, then shower and start work at 6:30 AM.
Sleep isn't a waste of time for me, it's time for muscles to repair and grow. :)

I am living on around 5-7hrs a night but some weekends I will go 12hrs just as a recharge :D

I work better in the morning, in the summer I was getting up regularly at 5am to capture the sunrise, but it did mean I was eating lunch before my brothers even woke up :D

Add work to that category, and it does not allow much time for the good things in life, like Photography.
The annoying thing is, that I suspect with the advance of computers and automation, in the future people will look back and discuss the time when people (us) worked a 5 day week.

I'll work 7 days if I can get it.:D Two more workouts in the company gym then.:)

I used to be able to function properly on about 5-6 hours sleep. As I get older I find I prefer about 8 hours.

The difficulty in our house is that I'm a morning person and my wife isn't. I enjoy getting up at 5 or 6, she prefers to get up about 9.

I generally manage on aroun 5-6 hours a night but then I get to the weekend and my body reminds me that I need a little more- getting out of bed seems to be a real struggle :(

My problem is that I try and cram lots of things into my evening after the kids are in bed but you then start doing things at 9pm which leads to me looking at my watch and OMG it's 1am and I have to be up at 6am!!

Anyway...look at the time...must go to bed...soon ;)

4-5 hours is all I need, but why is it bed is always the comfiest in the morning just before you have to get up???

I love my sleep and struggle to function on less than 9 hours and can happily sleep for 12+ hours if left to my own devices. Sadly being a student means I'm up until the early hours and have morning commitments too. I regularly think how much more could be done if I didn't need to sleep so much. What's worse is I never hit the pillow and drop off. Usually i'll need a minimum of 45 minutes to reach the land of nod which is yet more wasted time. I've an 8.30 lecture to attend this morning...lets see if I make it!

My ideal sleeping hours always have been about 4 AM to 9 AM. Unfortunately , can't do that on week days; so its 1AM - 6ish AM on weekdays and much later on the weekends.
