Hi all,

I'm sure this is user error, but I can't seem to trigger my SB900 using my wireless iShoot (on a D300).

The set up works on my sigma ring flash and has fresh batteries. I have switched the units 'on' and have set the camera on 'commander mode' and the flash onto 'remote'.

Attached are the settings. Any thoughts would be appreciated, Mandy

P.S. You can see my portraits taken when I trigger it from my pop-up on flickr site :)

By "iShoot" do you actually mean CLS or are you trying to use CLS via a set of iShoot triggers?

I meant I am using 'ishoot' triggers, thanks for clarifying this for me!

I would assume the problem then is you're trying to fire your flash in CLS mode using a set of manual triggers which have no means of transmitting the TTL data to the flashgun. You can either use the CLS, triggered by the onboard flash or an SU800 or the triggers, you can't mix the two.....

the comander mode only works wioth nion products , flaSHGUN , AND THE NIKON CONTROLLER SU-800 , try just turning the flash to the on position.

cheers Steve

For clarity:

If you're using basic wireless triggers, don't use commander mode on the camera and don't set the flash gun to slave mode.

If you want to use CLS mode, set the camera to commander mode (uses the built-in flash as the commander) and set the flash gun to slave.

Use CLS if you can, it makes things simpler!
- otherwise, you're on full manual. :)

@ Steve & Stop = What a numpty - it worked perfectly - thanks for explaining it to me in laymen terms. I was going mad trying to find the answer on youtube. Mandy
