Is Windows 10 worth upgrading to from W7 ?

Some of the mac users i know still use the dock. (Which is effectively the same as a start menu)

The Apple dock is not the same as a start menu, it is more like the Windows task bar.

but for finding less used programs the start menu worked well.

I find the search tool better for finding lesser used apps than trying to remember which bit of the start menu a particular icon is located.

Although the start menu has returned in Windows 10, the good thing is that you can turn it off.
