Is this too good to be true?

Probably too good to be true, who would sell 41 of them (if I'm reading it right) for that price.
 
Coul dbe true, but only if they fell off the back of Tim's lorry :lol: :lol:

I have just emailed the guy to see what he has to say - if it is for real, then a group buy might be the way to go..
 
He is in Pompey I believe, I have also emailed him but not had any response yet!!!!
 
Ask him to send a pic of the 41 cameras with a loaf of hovis best of both :p
 
This is surely a scam. Look at any region at the bootom and you find the same deals available for all regions. Bradford area is selling 39x 30D & 17-85 IS for £500.

Birmingham have 5d&24-105 for £500.

In fact all the multiples are £500.

Daniel - well, I am curious now - seems like there are similar ads on lots of Gumtree sites, all with large amounts af canon cameras, and all at £500 - you are not trying a scam, are you...?
I also asked about collection, and if they can be collected, and serial numbers checked with Canon, then a bulk buy is possible - let me know what sort of price per camera if I wanted say 20 of them..

Scammier than a scam thing from scamtown.

Well, I for one am convinced. The weight of evidence in providing serial numbers for 20 camera's pales into insignificance when accepting a gentlemans word :bang: .

definitely dodgy! I saw a similar ad selling a D80 for £399 wiht grip and lens when i emailed all seemed fine till i asked if i could collect then strangely never heard from them again!! Funny that, steer well clear unless you can collect and verify in person and then only pay cash once all checked out and above board.

In my defence I did not read it correct and thought it was a web page like Janice's sensor cleaning site :lol:
 
I have emailed several of these too good to be true ads on gumtree and none of them ever seem willing to meet and exchange in person but only by post, ie you send the money, they send nothing. If he agrees to meet you to deal then I may well be interested myself but why would he sell them so cheap if genuine when he could make more money? If you report the ad to gumtree they seem to delete them pretty quick. It would be interesting to know how many people send off money to these people, I suspect quite a few. Unfortunately scams like these are virtually risk free for the scammers.
