I have not checked it out, it was simply forwarded to me

I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this
virus!
I checked Snopes (URL above, and it is for real!!

Its stupid spam. Of course there are loads of nasties so you shouldnt open strange things anyway, but this is just adding noise to the internet. some people think its funny to start chain letters.

As I've said before, I must be lacking something in the humour dept


Of course it will be listed in snopes - which lists fakes/urban myths. I tend to send snotty replies to people who forward stuff like this to me. Point out that maybe they dont have enough sense to be using the internet.

According to Snopes proper link!! current status is real virus, but that was dated April so probably just a hoax now!!

however that relates to a different thing. look down the page to the bit where it says

The email may well refer to a virus - but one that's been around for years. The warning email achieves nothing. Like thousands of similar chain-letter type krap, it just adds to the drivel and detritus cluttering up the intarwebby.
