Is this external hard drive a good one?

thing is you'll always have someone come up with a horror story about each make/model.

but it should not really matter too much as long as you always have at least 2 copies of your data at all times.

all USB drives these days are generally plug and play, if they don't use a generic or included driver windows should download it for you.
 
agree with the above.

always keep back ups of the back ups, otherwise its not a back up :)

It's £54.95 from John Lewis. I am not well up on External Hard Drives, but I assume they normally come with the drivers, as some pc can't see some hard drives.

Hi John

Father in law bought the other Toshiba drive they do a few weeks ago http://www.johnlewis.com/toshiba-stor-e-slim-portable-hard-drive-usb-3-0-1tb-silver/p1422489 (same price)

Worked straight out the box, has the backup software installed if you wish to use it, no problems backing everything up for my FIL, the case the drive is in is very nice and feels robust...
