you hear to slow the shutter speed down or to set it high depending how you want your sports photos to come out, but would you say this was cheating. iv not edit them that good, just a rush job.

No, it's not cheating, but the downside of an animated GIF is you have to lose a lot of detail to keep the filesize down. Fine for web use, but try to print it

I wouldn't say it's cheating. However, one single shot in each case would, in my opinion, be better. If you light with a flashgun (preferably off-camera, fire either by a sync cord or using radio/IR triggers) then you'll get better results, and the subject will be picked out nice and sharp despite their speed.
