Is this any good?

Somone, anyone BUMP

Its half price and I would like a flashgun because I think the onboard is pretty carp.

any opinion (and it don't normally take this long for an opinion on here) will do!

Thanks

You get what you pay for :p

The only Jessops branded item I've ever bought was a Canon 400d battery, but I didn't think much could go wrong with that - flash is a different story though.

Thanks, It won't get much use, but is a would like. Probably will get it, cos it seems so much better than others in the same price bracket.

for the sake of £30 get it, if you dont like it you can always sell it on.

Or you can just return it - Jessops has a 30 day return policy.

I've got a Jessops flash from a while ago (say 5 years), never had any problems with it, yes it cant beat the Canon EX range and what not but it does a job.

I'm guessing that flashgun will only work in manual mode?

darn good price though. Tempted to get one as a second off camera flash actually.

thanks all fo rthe tips.

can anyone confirm mmore about compatability with the Fuji s9600??

It'll fit your hotshoe if that's what you mean but by the look of it it won't give AF illumination or anything like that. It'll be literally just a flash when you release the shutter. To be honest I don't think you'll go far wrong for that money. I know Jessops get a lot of grief but I don't think their stuff's actually that bad lol.

Collecting tomorrow, only about £26, as the 10% off if you spend over £50 code appears to have worked....Bargain :):):):):)

I have just put batteries in the 300d flash unit. I can use the PC SYnche to the camera, but do have to set the level of the flash to the aperture setting.

I'll be honest, I really really like it. The little HHHHmmmmmmmmmmm as I turn it on, and the gentle "pop" as the bulb goes off.

I have taken a few random pictures in the living room experimenting with levels of flash, angling the head to bounce on walls and ceiling etc.

I am very pleased with my £26 investment (should have been £60) and the level of flash is immense (probably not compared to other units), especially when I compare to the onboad of the s9600.

I brought the Canon compatible AF version for my new Canon G9 last week, and I'm well pleased with it, considering it only cost £25. Only thing is I don't know anything about decent photography, so I'm still working out how to use it properly, and have nothing to compare it to.

TO quote High School Musical "where all in this together" ( I have 2 young girls, it's not my choice of film...)
