Yes
Mid 2012 macbook pro with i7 processor and 8gb ram. 13" screen. Could get it for around £400.
Would be used for visit photo editing in my lounge. I do have a mid 2010 Mac mini upstairs, but I hate sitting up there.
Would this be a big improvement?
I know the screens not massive, but it's bigger than my ipad, which I've been using for basic editing.
Would appreciate your thoughts before I take the plunge....:)

Jump on it… given there is not defect.
I have three of those in operation and I love them.
They got cool pixel density and tethered shooting
or PP is great though only 17". The alternative is
the newer 15"… great tool for everything but alrea-
dy too small for photo apps interfaces. :)

This one only has a 13" screen though.
It's bigger than my ipad...just :)

…my bad, I read I7 as 17… :banghead:

13"? Well, way too small for me…
but this is for you, Robert!

I use to use a 13 inch in clamshell mode tied to a bigger screen, do you have an external monitor!

I have a monitor that I use with my Mac mini. I suppose if I found the 13" too small I could bring the monitor downstairs.

Is this the MBP without Retina? The price seems OK, and at least you can use an external monitor (recommended) for editing.

remember the i7 in the mid-2012 13" is only a dual core:

  • 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz) with 3MB L3 cache
  • 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz) with 4MB L3 cache

Do you think it will be ok for my needs? My mac mini is a dual core, but it's not even an i3.
Would you suggest anything else for similar money?
