I'm not really ashamed of anything I have, but there are one or two I'd not replace if anything happened to them

I can top all of yours, I have a Gary Glitter album, it doesn't get worse than that

The London Boys - London Nights
Sigue Sigue Sputnik - Love Missile F1-11

I have the sputnik track on my ipods / iphone and although i don't have the london nights one.....i have requiem

It was a plant by Matty, who i really hope doesn't see this thread......he has more cheese than a cheese factory running at maximum cheese capacity :gag:

My Mrs has some AB AB ABB ABBA there I have said it!
and she keeps them near to my led zeps, so far no damage or cross contamination
I guess I have just been lucky
Oh and BTW no, my collection is NOT in alphabetical order as you would have guessed:D

You weren't there that night a couple of months ago on IRC when benneh and I tried to outcrap each other in bad music.

I think I won.
I started with a left hook of Morris Minor and the Majors - Stutter Rap (No Sleep til Bedtime), then followed with a swift uppercut of St Winifreds School Choir - Grandma We Love You, another left jab of Welephant, finishing him off with a sustained attack of Grange Hill Cast - Just Say No, Milli Vanilla (4 tracks), Ray Parker Jr - Ghostbusters, 2 Unlimited, Zig and Zag, New Kids on The Block, Michael Bolton and Curtis Steigers

I won :D

Jimmy_Lemon will vouch for my taste in music. It's the best :D

Several Gary Glitter records....

I was only 6

In hindsight if I were female I'd have been in his "target" market :naughty:

If the question was...
'Is there anything in your record collection you're not ashamed of?'

The answer would be 'No'.

What was the date of that release?

I have an album by ahem... Bronski Beat. But I was only a kid when I bought it. (yeah, that's it)

I used to help fund my vinyl addiction at school by putting in a joint mail order and earning myself an album or two thanks to discounts. Unfortunately it meant that I was seen, briefly, with a Nolan Sisters' LP, which took a lot of living down.

I too, have ABBA and Led Zep in my collection - and they are both mine. Different types of bands and music, in fact poles apart, but have one thing in common - they were both brilliant at what they did. So I can thank you for the music while climbing my way up the Stairway to Heaven. Also, I don't feel guilty listening to Barbara Streisand but I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us are and I'll see you on the Dark Side of the Moon!

BTW Does anyone recognise the lyric from my signature line?

Wishbone Ash from the Album Argos

Far beyond the hills,
Where earth and sky will meet again,
Are shadows like an opening hand.
Control the secrets
That I've yet to find, and wonder at
The light in which they stand."

Spice Girls :gag::shrug:

:runaway:

Thats not embarassing, having the Spice Girls in your collection...

Embarassing, is being a 20 yr old, living with your girlfriend, and when out with a mate on the beers one night, laughingly make up a dance to 'Stop'.

And we performed it on the dance floor...in sync...like two little hot chicks :D

And yes, I can still remember it...lol

When I met Kate I had about 1800 records and 2500 cds.
Kates collection consisted of a Lional Richie album, plus a Wombles album.
Nearly dumped her on the spot.
Sadly, they are now to be found at the back of my collection, along with an album of tram noises, and a how-to-use-a-CB-radio record. No idea who owns those.........

This Chesney?? (a random addition to the speeches at my wedding in December!!!??)

:D:D:lol:

Nothing I'm ashamed of at all, in fact I'm very proud of the records I own :D I'm in a quandry with what to do with my vinyl collection as I don't really want to part with it - but I don't have anything to play it on :( I still keep debating whether to take it to Canada with me or part with it now

Oh, forgot to mention that before I sorted it out all a few years back, I did have Lp's by Shakin Stevens and the Nolan Sisters :$ But I didn't buy them so it doesn't count!

Yup, that chesney!

.............just found 'Five Star'

Some of Five Star were at Barking College at the same time as me.

I can't think of any records, tapes or cd's I'd be embarassed about in my record collection.

I have doity magazine stashed away in my record collection, just for rainy days. :naughty:

Don't part with them whatever you do. I brought my entire collection of vinyl over with me, about 600 I think, along with about 900 cd's. The vinyl haven't been out of the packing cases since as I still don't have anything to play them on but it's better than dumping them. You'd only regret it later on.

I do have a couple of strange albums in my collection, notably:

Rupert Bear and the Fire Bird, and

The Sounds of Trumpton.

Marvellous additions to any vinyl collection!!!!

What was the date of that release?

No idea, it's in the attic with the rest, probably 72-73, the 1st single I ever bought was The Sweet, blockbuster, I can see the red lipstick now ( I haven't got a clue what to do)

I collect vinyl so have a few tasty pieces including beatles albums (black and yellow parlophone label) beatles ep's, early punk and the worst bit:- full collection of east17 on coloured vinyl!

Can anyone beat the Kajagoogoo picture disc I just found? ? ?

...and Min, I agree with Mindcrime, Take it all with you!
