I'm after a rough idea of how much it would cost to 2 coat plaster a small hall stairs and landing. Cielings included

Hall is about 6 foot by 4 foot
Landing about 7 feet square
Small stairwell.

I'm realy after someone that has experience or has had similar done recently.

Sadly I live in a 1939 house and most of the plaster is blown, so rather than patch it I'd rather shovel the lot into a skip and start again.

so huw much roughly ?

Hi Mate,
I do a lot of plastering and happy to offer a few guestimates for you. Firstly that era it is like to be 'lathe and plaster' on the ceilings and there are two options. Rip the lot down which is very messy, new plasterboard up and skim. Alternatively you can sometimes overboard by screwing new board over the original ceiling. Bit cheaper and not so much mess. First option is the better job mind!
The walls, it just has to come off, treat the wals with PVA and two coat.

Without seeing it [photo?!] it sound like a day to strip out and two to replaster. Say 240 a day for man and mate plus £50 for materials.

Cheers

Main cieling has been ripped down, battened and boarded by yours truly. The walls would be stripped back to brick by me and my mate, small cieling is overboarded already. So basicaly it would need ceilings skimed and walls 2 coated.

are you sure about your measurements , they sound real small to me , nowt wrong with living in an older house either , i would rather have my 1945 built compared to some of the garbage i see being put up
