Edit My Images
Yes
Hey all happy new year ! i used lightroom for all my editing , BUT have been toying with the idea of 'fiddling' and editing while on the sofa / out and about on the ipad... realistically is it a useful productive bit of kit ? would i need an ipad air 2 over the ipad air ? i would be interested to see and get advice from what people currently use and how they find it thanks !

Nope. A small, uncalibrated, screen just isn't up to editing images.

Agree. Except for snapshots where you don't care a lot about the quality of your edits or when you just want to goof around having some creative fun I wouldn't waste time editing on an iPad using any of the available apps.

thanks for the input chaps - just was not sure now you can get Lightroom on it if it was actually a worthy tool... im trying to convince myself i need an ipad air 2 when i think i actually only need the original air and will leave the processing to the laptop ! thanks :)

When away in my caravan I use IPad Air for quick looks at what I have taken, and delete anything obvious. Sometimes have a fiddle using iphoto editing, it does basic stuff.

Lightroom for Mobile is good for filtering images, i.e. adding star ratings and flags, but you have to put them in a collection first. Maybe very basic editing is ok, but then it seems to me you are editing twice which doesn't exactly speed up your workflow. And I agree, if it's not calibrated then you have apples on the ipad and oranges on your computer, so what is the point.

I used to use my iPad to check/delete images and then used photo stream to save a copy of everything across a few machines.

Once that started being flaky due to iCloud getting worse i stopped though.

I did like the snapseed editor on there for quick snaps though if they were just for FB and nothing serious

I sometimes use the PhotoForge 2 app on my iPad, it has curves adjustments and levels etc. it's great for messing around with pictures you're just going to share online. A proper computer for anything more serious though

Mine is an ancient iPad 2 aswell

Just bought myself the iPad air only yesterday. Did intend to buy iPad Air 2 but when I got to the shop could not justify spending an extra £80 ( as the only difference I couls see was fingerprint security. ( not worth it in my opinion)
So bought my self a case ( you will need it as the iPad is very very slippery) but now need to buy an adapter to get my photos on it ( Apple do not make a memory stick adapter. So does anyone know how to get my edited photos from pc to iPad.

Hi, you could transfer them using an sd card and an Apple iPad sd card reader?
