Ryanair is considering charging passengers to use the toilets.

"One thing we have looked at in the past, and are looking at again, is the possibility of maybe putting a coin slot on the toilet door, so that people might actually have to spend a pound to spend a penny in future," he told the BBC.

i've had enough of them.. if i get a choice i'd rather pay a little extra and go with a proper airline.
i'm 6'4" and i have to try and get on the plane early so i can get a seat where i'm not jammed in. Fighting with all the other nutters to get on the plane every time is a headache i could do without.
And the new thing about letting people use mobiles on the plane is the straw that broke the camels back.

this first came out during an interview about "Ryanair doing away with airport check-in"
That has now disappeared under the furore about charging for use of the toilets - that he only mentioned in passing (!!!) as "something we have considered in the past"

How many people are fretting about the lack of airport check-in?

Mind you, the BBC interpreted that as "you'll have to pack everything for two weeks hols into your 10kg hand allowance"

oh well - shouldn't let facts get in the way of a good story? :shrug:

The Gubby clan is of to Italy this year and after shopping around I ended up booking RyanAir for the flights.

It was £70 each way for the flights x4 so that's £560..........

By the time I'd added luggage, booking fees etc it came to £918.14 :eek:



It was still cheaper than elsewhere but advertising it as £560 then stinging you for over £900 is taking the ****





*** if they are charging for use of the toilet can they be done for "immoral earnings", after all £1 to join the mile high club is a bit iffy ........

I've only used Ryanair a couple of times but I've had a look at their fees on the website it's frightening. I doubt I'll be using them again.

So they're doing away with check in desks (they claim that 75% already check in online) at the end of the year.
Does anyone know if you can check in online for BOTH legs of a return journey BEFORE you travel out? Otherwise you have to have access to the web when you're away!:cuckoo:
 
Wasn't it Ryanair who were also considering fitting bench style seating to cram double the amount of passengers on to each flight?

ryanair do really piddle me off with their charges. When we went over to Dublin last october, the flights started at at £10 return each for 3 of us, by the time all the various charges were added, it was actually £200 in total. We also used the automated check in at the airport, sort touch screen tv things. Very good if like me, you are fairly computer savvy, but bloody useless for so many because those surplus check in staff spent longer showing the computer illiterates how to do it than would have just checking them in normally. :bonk:


Mind you, we just flew to the West Indies and back on Thomson aircraft, 767's and frankly, I think I'll take a boat next time. The thing was shabby at best, the reading lights turned on and off at random, we were assured it was just a fault in the panels....errrr.....yes, ok, on both planes? but please do tell me about any other electonic faults the plane might have, I need to check my will! :thumbsdown: One of the toilets on the return journey had no lock at all, another looked like it was about to fall through into the hold, had a distinct wobble. In fairness, the cabin staff were excellent and the food was actually edible, so it wasn't all bad news. :thinking:
 
They`re awful, no way would I get on one of their planes. I`ll pay extra and get decent service thank you!
 
You think Ryanair would be flushed with money!!
 
I'd just do a wee in my seat if they tried to pull this I think!

Ryanair are crap in my opinion. Dreadful service,planes and prices,mainstream airlines for me, IF I have to fly.

Ferries are so much more civilised..........:D

Well said that man! I can't say i'm surprised or bothered by this. I don't use them, don't like them, and they can charge a grand for every step onto the plane for all I care. I give my custom to businesses for as much their ethics as well as their prices. Ryanair's ethics are in the sewer and have been for a long time. :gag:
 
If I'm paying a quid (plus taxes) for a flight, paying an extra quid for the use of the bogs isn't such a great hardship.
 
I think its a good way to get free publicity.. everyone is talking about Ryan Air today.. the radios, newspapers, tv.. and photography forums :)

+ booking fee
+ luggage fee
+ luggage booking fee
+ check in fee
+ supply of wheelchair fee (even if you don't need it)

all above gets charged each way per person :rules:

Surely the simple answer is: If you don't like what they charge, fly with someone else? :thinking:

Yes, they charge you for baggage, yes they charge a booking fee, check in fee etc etc...

So do ALL the other airlines, but they lump it all together in one price... In fact, if you fly BA (as an example) with no checked in baggage, you're paying for baggage YOU DONT HAVE!!!!
 
Ryanair are in the poop! my brother in law works for them as a techy.. he hates it!! lol..

I had this issue in front of me.. flights for two, return, would've cost £23 total.. with use of debit card (all bar electron charge) it would be £5 per passenger per journey... forget that. I was given a good tip...

Buy yourself a gift voucher and spend it on your flight. The lowest I could get was £25...
 
if i go to the loo and cant go, do i get a refund.


i dont think ill spend my hard earned cash on a ryanair ticket, money to sit in an uncomfortable airplane and treated like **** by the staff. id rather pay a bit more and not be cramped and uncomfortable for 3hrs!
