Is my camera any good?

Hello.

this is my first post outside of the Welcome Forum, and I would like a little advice.

I am a novice when it comes to cameras and photography, and have bought my first half-decent camera (so I think anyway), which is a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS.

Is this camera any good?
Does anyone here use the same or similar?
Does anyone have any settings tips for some good pictures?

Yes, I think that would do very well as a starter. Dive straight in and use it in the manual modes as opposed to the auto settings.

No, its complete and utter garbage, go and get yourself a real camera. Only kidding You will be open to abuse when you ask certain things

It doesnt matter what camera you have, its the person that takes the pics afterall, not the camera

Perfect for starters mate, gives you an excellent chance to work on composition & lighting without having to worry overly much about all of the variables of a DSLR. Looking forward to seeing some pics
