I never stop studying photography and find myself coming across her tutorials very often. What generally happens is that I get a small part of info and left without really getting what I need and then prompted to subscribe for the complete course. One of the main things I need to learn is how to use light room 4 but there are other things I want to learn that they offer. What is you opinion on this site? I welcome other similar suggestions as well. Thanks in advance for your guidance.

If you're happy with the snippets then I'd go for it - but I think you're not, otherwise you wouldn't be asking..

To be honest, I have been able to find everything that I have needed on youtube, for videos where there are just snippets, examine the snippets and youtube search further on what you have examined to find alternatives. There's always someone else doing the same thing in a video. Usually.

Thanks. I'm happy with what I have seen and that is why I am interested in the first place. I have not had luck finding what I was looking for so that is the main reason I am interested in her course.
Have you subscribed to her course?

Thanks.

Kelby training is also very good (now called Kelbyone)

This is just my experience and I do not want to open the door to a heated debate about this. I have watched a few of his videos and he has consistently given bad info in those videos. This is just my experience and it's a shame because I like his teaching personality a lot more than I like the women's.

Thanks.

There's a couple of podcasts that give you a code for a weeks free trial. You could use that to see if it's any good?
The candid frame is one podcast, they usually start with the advert and code.

I'm an idiot it's on my phone. Lynda.com/thecandidframe. You have to sign up for a plan but it's all explained, you get to cancel.
Might be worth a trial? If you do, I wonder how much you can get in 7 days :)

If you want tutorials on Lightroom go to the Adobe site. There are loads on there and they are excellent, the lady that does them is called Julian Kolst I think and she explains it very well.

I have a Lynda subscription and it's good. Almost *too* good as there's more than you can possibly get through on there and the problem then becomes, "what shall I watch for that two hours that I have today to spend on learning stuff..."

I've used Lynda.com some years ago for creative suite training and found the training really good. Not used it for photography stuff but would interested to hear if you think it's any good

Well I have had it for the one week trail now and I really like it. I will go ahead and pay for a full membership starting today. I started with a composition study guide put on by Ben Long. He is a fantastic teacher in my opinion. Of course not everything is going to work for everyone but he has got me thinking a lot more about what I am looking at. I did not think that was possible. hahah. Anyway thanks for the advise, this will keep my studies busy for a while.

This just keeps getting better. I am still studying one of the composition workshops and I came across something so cool I had to share.
It's a photography assignment. The assignment is to photograph light as the subject. Compose around the light. Be careful not to compose around the what the light is falling on. No tripods.
I think this is going to really push us to look really hard at the light and the composition. I'm going to try it soon.
I was thinking that this may be a good topic to post but I was not sure where to put it. If someone could tell me where a post like this goes I will post it for everyone tonight.
Thanks
