If it had already been asked before by a zillion others, sorry about this, but searching here on Talk Photography, searching on Google, and few other websites, I still haven't found any clear cut answers.

It seems I can use Photoshop to create my own Windows 7 icons, but while I found quite a bit of details, like suggestion that it should be 1024 x 1024, RBG, 72 dpi, etc., etc., I still have not found how to export or save as *.ico, or very confusing information about various Plug-in stuff.

Am I missing something? I've only used Photoshop from Adobe Creative Cloud for just about 6 months, and I haven't spent enough time to be fully familiar with it.

Thanks in advance.

Must agree with Neil. His sugestion on the highlighted thread works just fine.

if CC doesnt support saving to ICO files then yes.

irfanview is very lightweight, been using it for probably a decade.

Likewise.

It's just a couple of meg, and is a handy image viewer/tweaker just to have on Windows for when you don't want to fire up the heavy software.
