Yes
My HP Envy m6 Laptop has slowed right down when using PhotoShop 7 -- even the 'Crop' command takes an age to complete and now my Epson Stylus Photo R265 printer will not print -- when I click after crop, colour balance etc set up 'printer preferences' such as correct PAPER -- the 'Print Preview' will not come up. I can't print anything. I tried 'un-installing' last Windows 10 updates but not sure it it was successful as it said I had to 'Restart ' my Computer then the screen said 'Configuring Updates' -- anyone help please -- I'm NOT a Computer Expert but 82 year Old b****r.

Have you done the housekeeping?
Download and run CC Cleaner ( its not known as crap cleaner for nothing
Run DeFrag ( assuming it has not got an SSD )
Run disc cleanup if you have not already done so ( type disc cleanup in the search box) that will take you to the app then let it do its thing
Then in the search box type start up, that will give you a list of what starts up and runs in the background-stop what you dont need
What AV software are you using-Windows defender is pretty good and is not excessively memory hungry, some of them use a lot of resources/
If you know someone who is clued up and you have all the program and recovery discs you could always clean it up completely by formatting the hard drive and reinstalling everything but its a drastic step and if you don,t know what you are doing you could screw the whole thing up

Task Manager might give some clues if something is bumbling about trying to update.
If you have a system restore point set could try that.
Configuring updates might just have meant it was reverting to previous state.

@pentaxpete
It might help if you could post your specs more fully.

As there appears to be a few variants of the m6 what is the full model number?
How much RAM does your PC have?
When you look at the hard drive properties:-
What is the capacity?
What is the free space?

Its not a good idea, google defrag an ssd and that will explain why.
In win 10 if you have an ssd the defrag command is not available for that drive

Will do when I get the chance and yes I'm using Win 10. I don't store data on the SSD, just OS & programs. All data is on my MDs.
Thanks.

Thanks for your help -- I found this : Win 10 64 bit,Intel Core 15-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz.8 GB RAM Intel HD Graphics 4000

YES -- I DID A Crap Clean -- I know about that and in the past I have defragged but this computer seems to do it automatically

Hi Pete

Can you check your disk space...... especially the amount of free space???

it says : Local Disk 'C' : 663 GB Free of 879 GB
Local Disk (F) : 244mb Free of 904 MB
Recovery Disk (D) : 2.45GB Free of 20.1 GB

I cannot understand that Disk (F) as I have nothing plugged in like a Memory Stick or Card where it usually shows up and I never know what the 'Recovery One is for either.
PS -- Could that Disk (F) be my MOUSE plugged in ?
PPS : Shall I be Strict and delete loads of Photo TIFF Files now on Disc C ?

I've never seen a mouse show up as a drive, Sometimes a 'memory card mini board (the hardware bit the has the various slots) is read as one drive for each slot but doesn't normally display free space unless a memory card/stick is plugged in. Also I have known win 10 to create a small drive that sometimes shows although I suspect it shouldn't and you can't use it.
The recovery disc often contains the files needed to recover the OS pre-installed by the manufacture (often on laptops etc.) and comes with or you make a recovery CD. With that version windows do not offer support over the phone although it is a genuine OS & windows will update it.
