Is it possible to merge different lightroom catalogues?

For a while I had lightroom installed on 2 machines, each with their own catalogue: one was the main catalogue with the other holding a smaller amount of work, but both had imported all the same images. Now I would like to merge the 2 so that I have a single catalogue containing all my work. Is this possible, or do I need to export all my adjustments (.dng format? There are all the same raw images in both catalogues) to move them across?

There is an option in LR that allows you to import another catalogue. Click File, then "Import from another catalogue" and it will open a file finder window, navigate to the other catalogue, choose it and you are good to go.
