Is it possible to export your colour presents from your canon camera to Lightroom?

This is really bugging me.

The thumbnail of any image exported into lightroom contains an exact match for the colour settings I used in the camera. However, when I click on the image and it loads full size, the colour is removed and I just have the default raw profile.

Is there any way to retain or export the colour information?

I can't really get any information from that article, but thank you all the same. It's a bit above my understanding.

I have fiddled with colour in lightroom quite incessantly at this point, but there seems no way to mimic the colour tones I get in camera.

Surely it's possible though, because the tones are visible right there until Lightroom wipes them when it loads the picture in full detail.

If anyone else can open up on this subject I'd really appreciate it.

There is normally a small Jpeg preview in the RAW file which LR, or some other RAW processing programs show until it reads the RAW data and sets the default, so the programs don't know what the settings were and wipe them.

Try doing a Google search for LightRoom or Adobe Camera Raw presets for your camer which may have been made . Even if they aren't exact, they could be close and something you could tweek yourself.

I know there are some for Nikon cameras so I would assume there would be others for different brands/cameras.

The only way to get the RAW looking as the Jpeg did in the camera is to use Canon's Digital Picture Professional program which came with the camera. It can read, and apply all the in camera settings to the RAW file, but then obviously then allowing you to make changes.

Theys re in Lightroom for Canon 5D2 in RAW - in the Camera Calibration setting. They are Adobes attempt at Canons processing in DPP. the only real way to get back to the Canon processed images is either process in DPP (as mentioned above) or develop your own processing that matches what the Canon software does.
