Yes
Having received my new laptop with a 'base' copy of win 10 rather than win 8 (but that's fine) when I upgraded to the latest version of win 10 I had to then remove 27gb of old windows files.

Is there an up to date iso or is this as good as it gets.

I bought a 768p screen yet when I checked it it was set to 150% scaling. I was able to 'upgrade' to 1080p ips panel just by moving the slider:D

Can't you just run cleanmgr
Honestly I've never heard of that. will check it out though so thanks. I do prefer a clean install though and whoever at laptops direct did the upgrade on my pc messed it up as they set the dirty bit on the c:/drive!

Looks like a clean install may be best.

Download the Microsoft Media Creation Tool here then run it to download whichever ISO you need. The current version is the 1607 'Anniversary edition'.

Is the correct answer. If you do an upgrade, remember to run disk cleanup and system files to remove the old windows to release space

Yeah I prefer to format the drive at the installation stage to avoid all that!

If you're 100% sure you don't want to roll back.

Incidentally you get a Windows.old folder, or at least a large temp folder for each larger update (I.e from 1511 to 1607).

If you can live with the space being tied up for a bit I'd generally recommend keeping it for a bit, I've had to roll back a couple of times to fix a few faults.
