Is it me or is this odd?

I always try to get a feel for people loking at their feedback

He sells alot of batteries for phones and pipes for well.... funny stuff but never no camera gear.

If it where me i would be very wary indeed, specially having to go to his place with nearly £1600 in your back pocket

My thoughts exactly

Not to mention the fact that there's no real photo of it, and the spec chart hasn't been filled out (major putter-offer).... yeah, dodgy.

yeh you're right, it is odd!

What would you be searching for a Nikon for?

Seriously though, if I was buying something of that price, I would expect to see pictures of the actual item, I tend to keep away from stock photos like that

Ok.. I got curious so sent him a message. Sure he won't respond though seeing as I haven't called him.. :P

The seller seems to have a major attitude problem - I would be afraid to risk it he seems a bit agressive to me

I thought you weren't supposed to have cash as the only option on eBay?
Might be wrong, he's a power seller after all. I was offered an eBay account with 50,000 positive feedback once though, think I'd be steering clear of that one.

he has 6 cameras for sale which are all brand new but all unboxed, so whos going to be the first to ask for serial numbers

from what he sells its seems he gets job lots of things, bit of a wheeler dealer sort.
Could be that they have come from a very reliable sorce but i doubt it.

Who is to say on ebay if anything is as it says it is.

For some reason he doesn't use the words digital camera in his listing or shop.

I entered Canon and lo and behold more bargains.

The seller might be ok - and had his account hacked into. Happened to my wife, she got all these e-mails saying bids made for watches etc..

We could still log in and disabled all the sales and reported to ebay, who proceeded to try and chase us for the money for setting the sales :cuckoo:

It was amazing to see how much people would bid for watches though!

I would steer well clear and report it...

seems very dodge to me, all been said above, stock photos, contradicting write up, says ships next day and pick up only. also says does not come with warranty, so id deffo steer clear if for nothiing else!!

Reply from ebayer:

hi

i just want to make sure you can come to croydon for a pick up and its cash on collection only, its brand new and without box and accesories as this is how i buy them from my supplier, i do have some other models if you intersted

please visit my shop

thanks

The listings certainly appear a bit iffy, a more apposite title descriptor might be 'Nick'on for those two offerings (the D300 & D700)?

Perhaps he doesn't have a camera to hand :whistling:

States in big letters in the listing:

"YOU MUST CALL ME BEFORE BUYING THIS OR TRANSACTION WILL BE CANCELLED"

That would be enough to put me off, obviously hiding something from ebay, or maybe trying to do deals outside of ebay!
