Yes
I have been wanting a new lens for a while and just realised that its has gone up a fair bit and was wonderring if i was the only one that noticed it.
It was a sgima lens if that has any bearing.

They do seem to be creeping up a tad. The Canon 100-400mm L was £885 on Amazon a couple of weeks ago. Last time I checked a few days ago it had gone up to £1075. Canon lenses in particular seem to go up and down a lot.

That's not creeping.... it's bounding forward on a space hopper!!

been looking at the sigma 100-300 f/4 and when i first saw the prices it was 650 ish and now you'll be lucky to get one for under £750.

LCE have a second hand one at £600 i am really tempted to go second hand at the moment.

You used to be able to get one from OneStop for £397 back in 2005 (pre-DG version)...

Sigma have gone up loads, there was a 15% price increase in May this year, and with the exchange rate, importing from HK is much more pricey as the US dollar (which the HK dollar is pegged too) has plumetted.

I got a Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 EX HSM for £920 delivered from them in September 2005 and its at £1500 now.

this is the time the prices go up, so they can show previous price sold for when they take it down in the christmas sales and also trading standards and all that.

I am sure you will get the best price in time for Christmas you wont have to wait till the "boxing day sales" maybe 1-2 weeks before.

I got same lens from them in July this year for £1299, its now £1560, plus a sigma 1.4TC for £101 that is now £122! Glad I bought mine before the exchange rates went through the roof!

Three months ago got my Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS for £885 (including £75 cashback) from Ian (Kerso) and they're now £1,079  so obviously glad I got mine before the exchange rate blow

I am tempted just to save up for the 120-300 f2.8 now as i saw one today and they are not as big as i remember!

if they keep going up like this i'm going back to pinhole photography :D

jessops have the sigma 100-300 for £665 according to camerapricebuster

699 on their website - but none the less a decent price!

£665 if you use the code jessops5
7 day shop had it for £599 a few weeks ago so i daresay it will come down in price again

hopefully I think its gonig to be end of january now before i decide on which lens as i will have enough saved for a 120-300f/2.8 or a 100-300 f/4
need to have a side by side comparison to judge for myself if the 120-300 is going to any more suitable as its more expensive, heavier, shorter focal range but a stop quicker.
