Yes
a couple of years ago I bought a Canon 1d mkiii which came with two genuine batteries and an aftermarket one.
The aftermarket one wasn't up to much (didnt last long on a charge) but both the genuine ones were fine. Not long after I bought it one of the genuine batteries decided to pack up and wouldn't charge so I splashed out and bought another genuine one.
Late last week I put both batteries on charge and the newest one is completely dead, no signs of life at all, It wont charge up or power the camera up. I cant believe that two professional standard battery packs have died on me, surely its not a coincidence,or are they not as reliable as they are made out to be?
So now I'm off to the Moto GP at Silverstone tomorrow with one battery.

Lot's of Genuine fakes about ,
where did you buy it from?.

Maybe your charger or something.

I have 2 aftermarket 1d mk iii batteries and no problem so far

Not at all surprised at this.

You bought a 2007 camera with 3 batteries from god knows when and who knows how used and abused.

Its not bad luck, its old batteries with unknown history luck of the draw.

The third battery is a brand new genuine one as far as I'm reading it?
