Ok so Flickr has 1TB of storage now but does anyone have trouble uploading to it ? It sounds like a good idea to back up photos but i cant get any to upload ! I have just tried an album with just 12 photos in & the upload bar hardly moves so i just gave in. Anyone have the same problem or is there a way around it ? Col

Just you. I have one uploading right now, no problem whatsoever.

How much total MB memory are the pictures? Is it worse than other sites Like Photobucket for you? What sort of internet connection do you have?

What's the size of the image files, what's your upload speed?

There's a difference between having space and it being usable - the usability is more down to your upload speed?

It's also intergrated into the Canon apps and Mac OS if you wish for auto uploads without using a browser :)
However I think Flickr is crap but then again I don't use it to host much at all :)

I love Flickr, I upload all my photos so they are backed up, but I also have the pro account because it's worth the money for me. I've not had any problems, apart from the odd one or two that needed resending but I have approximately 2600-2700 photos on there and some videos so I'm happy with that hit rate.

I did notice a big difference when I moved to BT infinity from normal internet. My upload speed shot up to around 15mb from around 1-2mb. That really helped and made video uploads possible. At around 300-400mb some of them that just wouldn't upload on the slower speed.

Whenever I've went into it this morning I get a message saying that my browser needs updated.
I'm using the newest version of IE10 so that shouldn't be a problem.

This also happens....it's been like this for ages

Think this could be the problem. I am on 20mb broadband which is correct in a test but only 1 to 2mb upload speed. I have tried a few things but Flickr is so slow I just give up ! Col

It did used to take a while at that speed but it did work for a reasonable number of photos, like the amount the are talking. Once they are uploaded it is quick to view them afterwards as the download speed is much quicker.

Must admit though, it did seem quite slow yesterday for just viewing so I checked my Internet speed and it was over 60mb download so maybe Flickr is having speed issues at the moment.

I had a nightmare trying to upload last night, gave up after an hour as the connection kept saying it had dropped out when my own internet was working fine?? Gave up after an hour.

Tried today at work from my external hard drive - fast as 'owt!

Had another go today, even plugged Ethernet cable straight into laptop but still slow as ! Think I've give up ! Upload speed is like 1.2 mbs !

What does your ISP quote for UPLOAD speeds, a 20mb download quote does not give you the same upload speed. Also its 20 megabits not 20 megabytes, huge difference .

Sounds like your getting what your ISP is saying you should get and it's nothing to do with Flickr at all.

Network data transfers are measured as a BIT rate

"Meg" mb in broadband terms is actually mbps (or Mbit/s which is "mega BITS per second" not mega bytes

Try a different web browser, chrome working fine with flickr for me, over 100 images uploaded today, 1 failed and had to re-upload.

I get 16mb down and 0.82 up
