Its kind of like a camera club I think, There had a display in Hyde shopping center with members photo's. They have a internal competition and a few battle competitions with other clubs. They also have people come and do talks and things.
 
Sounds interesting - not heard anyone mention it before, but doesn't mean no one is.
 
thats the same club that holds their meets on a monday night bowling green street 8pm ish have been hoping to go myself but was hopng to get some feedback first on what its like.
 
I've been thinking about joining a camera club.
Was thinking of joining South Manchester which is based in Didsbury, but seeings I live only a couple of miles from Hyde, I'd be interested in some feedback also.
 
Good grief at this rate we could start our own! :)

I did have a brief chat with a chap in Borders in Stockport one day who is a member and he said it had got a bit "stale and crusty" but that some of the younger members were stepping up to the mark and changing things.

Do please let us know how you get on :)
 
Whilst I'm away at my parents this week...I wouldn't mind joining seeing as how I live there!!
 
Will let you all know tomorrow whats it like. Hopefully should be quite interesting and its a bargain only being £1.50 per week. If you want to enter the comps though its £22.00 for the year, which is still quite cheap!!!
 
Philip, you'd have been more likely to get a positive response if your thread had had a more helpful title.
 
I went along with a mate of mine a few years ago and it was trully crap.
Much better on here.

I'm local too, and looking for a decent club.

Let us know how you get on. If it's any good they may be getting an influx of members from the look of it. It will turn into a mini TPf meet every week :lol:

Don't go to Hyde then.
That camera club is the center of weirdness for the entire universe.
 
My grandad just told me he has been in touch with one of the guys who runs it.....bit of a coincidence!! He got me the dates etc.....wouldn't mind going if some of you guys are :)
 
i wouldn't mind getting together with the northwest TP ers. I'd be happy to travel into manchester or somewhere in greater manchester. Was thinking of joining a local camera club but never quite got round to it.
 
Just the kind of thread I was looking for!

I was just about to post a thread on Romiley's camera club. I was at Romiley's young farmers show at weekend and was hunted down by a pair of photographers who gave me a leaflet about a competition they are holding. Anyway just want to know id anyone has been to one of their meetings? I've been looking for a local club for a short while now.

Oh and as for a meet, you can count me in ;) Plus the Mrs too as she now uses my old D40!
 
Jimbob, I was going to go to the farmers show, but never got around to it...Bit of a shame because I only live 5 minutes away!

Looks like you'll soon be able start to form a franchise of TP Photographic Clubs spread around the UK :rules:
 
OK is there anything on next weekend and perhaps we could set up a meet. Somewhere in the Stockport/Romily/Marple/Hyde area? Or if it suits people to go into Manchester?

Anything specific anyone would like to shoot?
 
I maybe unable to attend the camera club monday but thankyou i hope to eventually but am interested to hear what you think of the club.
but definitely interested in a meet up somewhere like aliB has suggested weekends cool not fussed over where we shoot or what as im just learning how to take the lens cap off :thinking:
