Is a cleaning kit JUST a cleaning kit...?

I went to buy a cleaning kit today - but once again was bamboozled and taken aback by all the choice. The kits can start at £5 and the most expensive I found was £60... all of which seem to have the same things; a blower, microfiber cloth, some other type of cloth, and fluid.

What's a good brand and what are the differences? Is a cleaning kit just a cleaning kit, or what? Help!? :bang:

Unless you live in the desert then the most you'll probably need for general cleaning is a rocket blower and lens pen << great for cleaning greasy finger prints as the carbon soaks up it up rather than a clothe just smearing it around.

Any heavy dirt on the sensor then your looking at swabs maybe.

PM Flash in the pan on here I got a kit from him and does the job fine.

Just get a lenspen or similar thing for a few quid. Covers most circumstances, unless you're in extreme conditions. Don't get too caught up with keeping everything spotless, unless you've got some serious carp on there it makes little or no difference.
