I need a new monitor - not too expensive - say a max of £150 spend.

Would you get an IPS panel or a TN panel (24" screen) to do both PC Gaming (Battlefield, Call of Duty etc.) as well as Photoshop?

Obviously a fast response time in ms is required for gaming.

I've read somewhere that a high quality TN display can perform better than a low quality IPS display.

Links to suitable ones from UK sellers appreciated in your answers...

Decision needed by Wednesday midnight...

I've had an IPS and TN panel next to each other. The TN is no longer with me ;)

I have an IPS and a TN screen in front of me now, if you're going anywhere near photo editing and have the choice then IPS every time. Just sitting here moving my head I can see the colour shift between warm-cool which would undo any calibration to get the right colours. The IPS monitor doesn't shift at those angles.

Have a look around for 23" monitors (16:9 ratio due to 1080p means they're slightly smaller) as there's a good selection to chose from all under budget.

Pity, I've got a 21" widescreen monitor upstairs doing nothing.
