Hi guys

Its my 25th birthday in a couple of weeks and people have asked me what I want. My response is money because it makes it simple. So if I get any money I've been looking at getting an ipod touch. :D

Just looking to store images and music on it. Wondering if you could share your experiences.

Kind regards

Sarah

I have an iPod touch, i really really like it. Although some people think it has way to many features (especially if you just want to put pics and music on it..). If you dont want to be paying for features you arent going to use then a nano or classic is probably better. But the touch is excellent in my opinion.

I love it to bits. It's a pocket computer really. The only way I'll get rid of it is when I get the Iphone.

The only downside is battery life. Even with the screen brightness turned down I have to re-charge most days If I'm watching a film or playing Scrabble or whatever.

Wouldn't be without mine. As above, it's really a pocket computer. One thing I find really useful is that if I want to quickly look on the 'net for something the iTouch is a lot quicker than firing the lappy up. There's some really useful apps for it as well. Great gadget.

I have had a ipod classic for a while which is great for music, but the itouch is always with me now, nice screen size for photos and films and the wi-fi and apps are always coming in handy.

If its just music and photos, I've just orded this for my wife as she likes things nice and simple.

I find it really useful keeping my portfolio on my iPhone (same screen/photo options etc), although I'm done all the resizing in Lightroom.

It is also good for emails/Facebook/Twitter when you can't be bothered to sit at a computer (assuming you're connected to a wireless network).

another i touch owner here...fantastic IMO,use it mainly for listening to music in the gym,and on long journeys in the car, also store some of my fave shots on there, and have on occasion used the wi-fi to browse TP when away from my puter:thumbs:

Great gadget. I use mine mainly static in the house. It takes up so much less space having it with dock than a large hi fi system. I like the fact you can have the songs you enjoy from peoples albums on it rather than wasting money on the whole album and only liking 2 say!

Hands down - the very best gadget I've ever owned in my life.

You have access to almost the entire panoply of iphone software - a lot of remarkable applications and utilities there.
Seamless integration with itunes for podcast downloads and sync
Great User interface and usablity with OS3.0+ (if you buy a s/h one get the OS update)
Web browsing on safari over WiFi is great
lots of support for flickr/facebook/ebay/twitter etc. etc.

Only significant downer I can mention is that the supplied earphones are hopeless, get some in-ear ones for travel and/or a proper over-ear set for music enjoyment when you're at home.

I got an iPod touch last year, love it and it went everywhere with me but I have just upgraded the business to iPhones so it has taken a bit of a back seat. Even still, it is a great gadget and a very handy little pocket mac too!

If you are considering a touch, why not go the whole hog and get an iPhone. To have my photos, music, web (anywhere!), email, calendars, apps, sms and phone all in one unit is incredible. You don't need a contract, get an O2 sim only deal for £15 a month and find an iPhone on the classifieds/ebay.

my son got one and i thought it was a great gadget so i got one as well
i then decided to get the iphone 3gs so i had an all in one gadget which really is an amazing bit of kit
th ipod touch is so handy when your away as well if there is wifi available
cant reccomend it enough

Loved my iTouch, now the proud owner of a iphone 3Gs,
the ultimate gadget! I am keeping my touch for deployment (cant use anything with a sim card in), awesome for movies, music etc, and I use mine for reading books, I read a lot so its greta to put 200 books on there and no have to lug books about! ereader rocks!

Had an itouch, loved it to bits, then upgraded to the iphone. This then made me realise just how utterly useless the itouch is as its wifi only.

i've just got an archos 3 vision, and its fantastic. and all for the price of £79 from argos much cheaper than the ipod.

Think its all been said, it is that must have connot do without toy if you know what I mean and as the Nike advert says - just do it

Thank you guys! :D Its decided - with whatever bday money I get Its going towards the ipod touch! :D

I bought one from work for this exact reason.

I often go out and meet people that don't have the web and ask if I've taken anything recently... out comes the Ipod and I can share my photos with everyone!

Recently bought the flickr app too! Very handy!

I've got a v2 iPhone (not the latest) and couldnt do without it. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit. As mentioned above why not go for the iPhone as it is an iPod Touch with a phone on it.
Vodafone & Orange are releasing them on their networks soon as the O2 exclusivity has come to an end.

Good luck with your decision but to carry around just 1 piece of equipment is a god send

my only regret is that i didn't get the 16 or 32 gig one's,as i have so much music i'd like to store, and only have 1.5 gig of storage left..

I didnt know they did a 16gb. That would suit me a treat!

That is exactly what I want it for. I don't want the iphone because I like sony ericsson for phones. I don't like putting loads of stuff on my phone.

Problem is I want things yesterday :D
