Ipod syncing

Trying to get my old brain around this Is it possible to transfer just one album from another ipod to my itunes library or will sync either way all the content. Hope that makes sense and someone can advise, thanks

not from an ipod to itunes no.

you can download programs that extract files from an ipod however, this could be construed as piracy though if you have not purchased the content.

Thanks Neil, i thought that it might be the case they seem to have it tied down, even if you have purchased the album from itunes. Just been reading itunes "help" and now my head hurts!! Got the impression that it should be possible to create a new library then sync a second ipod to that library, but i got lost!!!!

you cant sync back from an ipod in itunes.

but if you want 2 idevices to sync to 1 itunes lib then that shouldnt be a problem at all, i do it with my ipod, iphone and ipad all to 1 library.

This is worse than when i was trying to work out how to save nef files to external hard drive So, if i connected a second ipod to PC it would sync, then add tunes from my library to the second ipod or would it erase what was on the ipod and just make a mirror list of what was in my itunes library, getting close to cracking up i think

if the iPod is not sync'd with that library then iTunes will demand an erase and sync, once that has done you can then choose 'manually manage iPod' so you can pick and choose what goes on it.
