iplayer, pah!

Was chatting to someone yesterday and he mentioned that there was a program on Sunday evening on BBC2 about the making of Dad's Army. I didn't realise it was on but thought, no worries I'll catch it on iplayer. Looked it up..........."not available" !!!! :annoyed:

Do you know the name of the program?

I like the idea of iPlayer but what gets me is the massive downloads.

I just watch them from the web page.

Yeah but it's still streaming it to your PC which means using your bandwidth. Many ISPs in the UK impose silly limits on your bandwidth so doing things like iPlayer can suck it up quickly.

tis daft to have a low bandwidth limit, almost all the tv I watch is over the internet, either streamed or DL'd to my server then streamed either internally or externally

thing that gets me about iplayer is it de fullscreens itself whenever you click even if its on a second panel

Don't really use it that much so never really had a problem myself, wouldn't even know if my ISP (AOL) is one of those with a silly limit.

I would assume so, AOL are terrible people, some say too evil to be allowed in the bnp

Oh I agree. Just waiting for my contract with Sky HD to expire, then thinking about taking the whole lot (TV, phone and broadband over to Virgin)

check if they are good in your area, in Exeter they are unbelievably bad, but did a massive marketing drive and are in 80+% of student house, in some areas its great. Problem is they don't always buy enough bandwidth
