iPlayer on PS3

Can anyone else actually watch an hour long program via BBC iPlayer on their ps3 without any of the following:

- white circle of death coming up every 11 seconds
- playback freezing every few seconds until you give up in despair and turn it off
- messages coming up about network being lost and the ps3 then reboots itself.

if so Id love to know how you achieve it!

Currently connect to router wirelessly from ps3 would a cable link work better I wonder?

My girlfriends always trying to watch Eastenders with no luck! Always stopping and that, I think it's something to do with the app on the ps3, I have no trouble on anything else!

Keith, Sounds like you're internet connection isn't fast enough or you've got a crap wireless connection. I solved this problem by using home plugs - much much better than wireless , no buffering or loss of connection.

Is that the power socket things that route the network? Been thinking of getting some I must admit.
Somebody offered me some free the other day but I cant remember who! Doh!
 
It is - they are brilliant - Wifi is a waste of time for anything demanding. I think theres some for sale on the classifieds

Was on the verge of buying some then saw this

Nothing's ever straighforward is it? :bang:

Couple of 500Mbps ones for £30 the pair on amazon with 2 "free" 1m cables as well.

Will check the classifieds.
 
I have Infinity 2 with a d/l speed of 73Meg

Every piece of kit with IPlayer - Brilliant

No buffering or freeze up...

That is except for PS3 simline 320Gb. Connected direct by Cat 6e cable.

I think, from talking with others, that the IPlayer app on the PS3 is crap.

I don't know anyone with a PS3 who gets a quality IPlayer

iPlayer and Lovefilm are both a waste of time on the PS3. End up just switching to my laptop instead.
 
Use love film on PS3, interestingly on gigabit lan (gigabit router) and on bt infinity 2. The max speed the PS3 connects at is around 16/Mbit. Something is odd with the PS3 and network speed.

NO problem streaming lovefilm, netflix or iplayer on it, but have switched to using an apple tv for netflix as it is a lot quieter and the sky box for iplayer.
 
This all depends on which PS3 you have. I experience the same on my 40GB fat model. Utterly rubbish wifi though I'm sure it worked better in the old house. Everything is fine now I've got it running through a cable.
 
Mine is on the cable (fat ps3)
