Anyone use this much? Always used iphoto as it sort of worked but iphoto11 is driving me nuts with this stupid faces crap that is just slowing it down to a crawl. I like it as it has easy ways to upload to facebook, flickr and smugmug... I'm not arsed with raw so I was quite happy.

Seriously considering a move to aperture as you can at least turn the faces crap off. Just wondering whether it is just as easy to upload to fb, flickr and smugmug. A plugin in for 500px would also be really useful and I suspect that is more likely than for iphoto.

Appstore is doing it for just over £50 at the moment...I have aperture 2 but it didn't have the plugins and it upset iphoto so I had to import into iphoto then copy into aperture so I gave up using it very quickly. Can you set aperture to be the default doodad for importing photos without iphoto throwing a wobbly if you happen to need it for anything?

Latest iphoto seems unstable as it bombed on opening until I had rebooted. Which then upset the tablet driver. Urrgghghh. I hate changing computers. :bang:

I use Aperture 3 and it is excellent. Uploading to Flickr is built in to the program and it is easy to upload to other services as well.

I have a friend that also uses it along with iPhoto 11 and he doesn't ever mention any issues with using both.

For £50 it is a bargain. It used to be £180 and was very good for that price. It is a fantastic editing suite, handles raw images very well, supports tethering with both Nikon and Canon and many others as well. There are a number of Sony cameras supported for that as well but I would need to check if the 580 is supported.

Should be ok. I tend to use jpg most of the time and I think I have used sony RAW from gimp anyway if I ever venture into the world of RAW :)
