Grrr, my bloody Iphone has been stolen. I was at the curling club tonight which is a pretty safe place at the best of times, left my phone in my trouser pocket in my bag in the changing room. I was using it when I came into the place so it must have been spotted. The changing room is in full view of the rink but of course I wasn't paying attention to it while I was playing. You just cant trust anybody these days. Anyone know if Household all risks covers things like mobiles? :shake:

You just can't have anything nice without worrying :/

House insurance might do, but i guess depends on the plan you have with your company? I'd imagine its unlikely but i dont really know!

Try looking on the companies website o:? Even then though is there an excess on house insurance?

With some accounts the bank give free mobile phone insurance, any chance you are covered with them?

Hope you get it sorted :(

Oo, just looked up my Rayalties Gold account with the RBS, seems I have mobile phone cover up to £350... Good call, I had forgotten about that!

insure it on the contract, then its next day no problems, also iphone has an ap that tells you where it is if u install it on the next one

Have you reported it stolen so they can lock the phone down. At least that will stop them using it

I had mine nicked in Hong Kong, the day the 3gs came out, so I ended up with an upgrade as well.

You will probably need to report it to the police otherwise the insurance company won't pay out, but I got mine replaced on my Firstdirect phone insurance, so you should be ok

Did you by any chance have a mobileMe account with Apple? Because you can track down your iphone via the GPS if you do.

Yes first port of call MUST be informing the provider. Otherwise, the nasty **** can run up a massive bill, apps, itunes etc and YOU will have to pay. The service provider will cancel the sim/phone so no extra bills can be there.

Well, I tried phoning it several times last night but only got the answer service so it was most likely turned off. This is good as I at least had an unlock code on the sim when it gets switched on.
First, called the police and reported it. Got the magic crime number.
Still have the original box so gave the IMEI number to O2, that got the phone blocked.
Not got Mobileme, but might well consider it next time.
Claimed on the all risks part of the house insurance, went remarkably smoothly. Will be contacted by the company that actually pays out within 28 hours. £50 excess I can just about live with, will probably get a 3Gs out of this.

The ice rink manager had a looky at the cameras, some wee scrote came in while we were playing so it wasn't a fellow curler at least. The Icerink next door reckons he did the same to them last week. I really hope he is dumb enough to try again! Police are coming out to look at the tape.

*** a colossal PITA!

its such a shame that the mobileme/GPS tracking isnt standard. It would almost be worth getting the phone nicked to be able to trace it and see the look on the face of the burgler when you turn up at their house

I'm going to look into the mobileme app now

Glad you got it sorted pretty quickly mate
