Just got a new iPhone 5s, previous mobile was ancient and mainly used it for texting. Any online purchases I ever made was done on my home pc, my question is, is it just as safe ordering online via iPhone 5s than it would be via pc? Are my credit card details etc any less safe than on pc?

Just as safe. The security comes from the websites as they will be using https at checkout.

Thanks for that, ordering goods via mobile phone is something I've not done yet. Useful if I'm away from home.

and if you pay by PayPal or Amex ..you are more than double secured.

but if you are on mobile phone I would still suggest using your phone network rather than public wifi. that's applicable to y0ur laptop no tablet as well.
