Is anyone have problems with battery life since upgrading to ios 5? I'm losing 23% per hour with no wifi, no 3G and location services turned off.

yes my phone dropped battery life much faster than normal today

Not noticed any losses here, from 100% this morning to 82% now - had wifi active all day and been in use for internet, phone and texts. Mind you I haven't selected iCloud use so could that be the difference

Mines a little more hungry, but I've allowed it to use the notification centre now.

No, I haven't activated iCloud either.

Yes, mine went down to 60%, after only about 2 hours of use, and the rest on standby! At least Im not alone.

Logically I wouldn't have thought the notification centre would make much difference as it's only a different way of presenting what the iPhone has always done.

I'm glad I'm not on my own too. I'm sure a solution will come to light over the next few days.

I have a 3GS and I noticed something was not right about lunch time it was already down to low 60's%!!

I've found something in Location Services that appears to improved things slightly...

Settings > Location Services > System Settings (at the bottom)

> Location Based iAds - OFF
> Setting Time Zone - OFF
> Status Bar Icon - ON

Off course it could all be in our minds, I know I've been playing more today so that probably has a bit on an effect on battery drain.

Dont forget that if you have just upgraded it might be rebuilding some of the spotlight indexes, and if you have iCloud stuff doing backups/sync that could drain it as well. It should settle.

I have everything switched on (notifications, push for 3 mail accounts, wifi etc), on my iphone 4 other than wifi sync, have had phone on all day on wifi, sent around 15 emails and about 20 mins of calls, plus was on app store for about 20 mins according to phone usage is at 1hr 49 mins and standby of 9 hrs.. battery is still at 86% now, ..my battery life as increased, normally around 4pm im down to 60%

Only gripe i have is my emails aint coming through unless i go into mail :-( and i have push switched on the account.. strange.. but they are coming through on my ipad..

I think I have used my phone about the same as you and I'm in 27% maybe the battery is foobar :(

I had the same problem after installing IOS4 last year, the way to solve it then was to turn off your phone and reboot it a couple of times.

I'm down to 52% and it's the second full charge today. I'll try a couple of reboots but I've already done one.

I was going to suggest exactly the same thing, from experience this has worked for me after a couple of the big updates
