No
Soon to be common as muck then...

TESCO are going to offer iPhone Contracts from 14 December... ... apparently... :suspect:

Sorry if this has been posted before but I did not see any on a quick search... ;)

:p

Have you seen the contract deals / prices though? not very cheap

Vodafone will also be selling them from January as well it seems.
Tesco apparently offer the best deal to existing iPhone customers whose contracts will be expiring from the original O2 contracts today. It works out very similar if you don't already have an iPhone though because tesco make you pay so much up front.
I can't remember exact details but I know that's the general idea about it.

the iPhone is already common - and that was just with O2 selling them.
so many people (including me) bought them because they wanted to be different.

I didn't buy mine to be different, I got it because its a nice bit of kit, and the most practical phone for my lifestyle.

Get an Android phone if you don't want to be a sheep!! ;) :D

i honestly think mobile tariffs and contacts these days are silly and i think it's funny they bumped up contracts to 18months rather than 12 and everyone was fine about it...can't wait til it's 5 year contracts :P

i don't have one and want one

currently on voda network and await to see what they offer

otherwise wait until orange announce their friends and family discounts as a friend works there

This could be said with a lot of phones, however I believe most people got an iPhone because there's simply nothing else to rival it right now. I got one as I run a Mac for work and home and have a MobileMe subscription, no brainer as far as I'm concerned.

Oooh, I've just got to the end of my contract with O2 on the iphone and I've gone onto a rolling 30 day thing for £20 a month, 600 mins, 1200 texts and unlimited internet. Time to see what tesco have to offer.

How did you get that deal on a rolling contract? Mine expires on the 1st Feb.

Thats a fab deal on the rolling deal.
Who put you onto that?
Was that via a store or over the net?

They can't beat that, nobody can.

From what I've just researched, it's an iPhone simplicity deal. I'll go onto this when my contract expires on the 1st Feb and wait to see what happens in the summer regarding a new handset.

That's what I'm planning on doing too...

Just ring and ask when in the last month of your contract. I tried ringing 3 or 4 different times to negotiate a better deal, they won't budge. It's the iphone simplicity tariff as others have mentioned. If out and about you can get it in any O2 store too.

Well, an iphone through whomever is a tempting impulse purchase.

I have to confess wanting a Palm Pre out of brand loyalty which manifests itself in still being able to use various PalmOS applications on something not quite so chunky as a Treo 650. On the other hand why should I go from Orange to O2 and pay more for a package I won't fully utilise?

And the only things wrong with the Treo 680 are:-

1. It's been in my pocket for at least 2 years,
2. It doesn't offer novelty toys such as landscape/portrait format options (hey the touch screen is square),
3. I can't be bothered to reactivate my Orange web browser because I don't need it - but then what aspect of this whole conversation is 100% needs based?

I guess I'll wait and see what happens in the New Year with the Pre.

+1

Who cares about a phone being 'common', any phone I have had has been signed up for (have yet to buy a phone, always on contracts) has always been chosen due to the tech sheet, not because of any kind of peer pressure.

And surely more users on other networks can only be beneficial to iPhone users, due to the possibility of more apps being created?

iPhone's are for sheep. If you want to be different then get the Sony Satio.

Like the one I've got in the for sale forum because I use an iPhone.:lol:

I didnt think that any phone could ever drag me away from my nokia n95 but the iphone did and now I dont know what I would do without it, sad but true...i just love it.

another current n95 8gb user here
nice solid feel, good camera, does what it needs to; but still want to begin the iphone journey even though as some people say it's not unique, but the number of apps make it so functionable

I've just got my 2 kids T mobile Pulse's for Christmas which are Google Android phones.

They look pretty good as it goes, and a great deal as well. 300 minutes, unlimited texts & data for £20 quid a month. Loads of apps to choice from.

If they're any good, I may change over from my iPhone when my contracts up and save the £15.00 quid a month I'm spending with O2!

I really fancied an iphone but I've taken a fancy for the HTC hero now and can't decide, think I'll wait until January and see if there are any post-christmas specials.

Had the iPhone (2g / 3g / 3gs) , loved it.

Now i have the Hero - Love it even more. It just feels less 'constrained' and is more function over form rather than the other way around (IMO)
