iPhone 4S problem (Sorted)

Not mine but the Stepson`s. Apparently he went to use Google as normal and he was getting Blue Green Red lines all down the screen. He turned it off but the phone will now not even boot up. He has just spoke to a guy from Apple support who guided him through a factory reset etc but no joy. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of this? Thanks in advance.

My initial thought would be to try a firmware restore.

Open iTunes, and then while holding the home button down connect the iPhone to the computer and continue holding until iTunes pops up a message about a phone connected in restore mode. From there, just follow the instructions.

As long as he has a backup he shouldn't lose any data, at the end of the restore he will have the option to set up as a new phone or to restore the backup.

He tried that Dave but got nothing. He is going to take it in to the store tomorrow if he cannot get it working. Thanks anyhow

Well just an update, he took the phone in today and they gave him a new one no questions asked.
