Yes
I skipped the iPad 2 so looking forward to the iPad 3 event tomorrow (or iPad HD as some rumours have it.)

The most curious rumour is the one about the lack of physical home button. :suspect:

I've only just purchased a 2! :( poo

It's a hardware event why would aperture 4 feature?

It's iPad and appletv

It is an apple event. No mention of anything other than invitation. It won't feature most likely but needs to be soon or many will flee to LR4. Apple do things as they decide, nothing to say it definitely won't feature, although obviously all about iPad. That said rumours of Aperture for iPad which will tie in nicely to a SW launch of iPad compatible Ap4

Interesting to see what the pricing will be like, the oh keeps hinting she wants an iPad so might be worth looking at getting a 3 (she gets the 2 of course) or a cheaper second hand 2.

i've heard two different things - it will either be the same price as the 2 or if it has a retina display and larger battery it may make it go up in price.

we'll soon see

Have to admit I'm quite looking forward to the announcement too.

Not being an Apple fan at all but after buying an ipad2 for my wife a few months ago I am a big fan of the product....which surprised even me!!! :D

Got an ipad 1 a month or so after launch after initially thinking it would be a waste of time. Wife loves it, kids love it, i do too!!! Decided not to go for the 2 as no real benefit but a better screen like the iphone 4 would be tempting!

apple store is down - the update is starting to happen!!!!!!

the excitement is making me need a wee. I've owned an ipad1 since launch day and loved it every day since. Well worth the money I paid for it - soon i'll have an ipad 3 as well!

Your posts always raise the bar, Joe;)

My iPad is used every day

*by my wife playing Words with Friends

Who here is excited for the new iPad? Are you going to upgrade or buy your first one?

I've always wanted one but at the same time, I know I probably don't need one. If it does alot for my photography and is a greater resource than any other device that I use, I probably will buy one!

What about you?

'Excited'? Not really, I get excited less and less as I get older and it takes more than some electronic gadget to move me. I don't use my iPad 1 for much photographic, it's mainly used for reading, email, web and business specifics.
It's convenient in certain circumstances for me but could I live without it ... probably.

I've put the cash to one side just in case they manage to draw me in but I've been so annoyed with Apple over previous iPad releases. The lack of;

HDMI Connector (on device)
SD/MicroSD Card Reader (on device)
A file system

It's especially annoying when you think they wasted time developing a rear facing camera....

You can get those features already, it's call the Apple Air.

I've owned two MacBook Air devices and neither had a HDMI port.

Still... the air has nothing to do with features that should be on the iPad.

These live blogs are pointless when the number of users on then just crashes them. 3 down already

Ipad with Retina display announced.

It's official, new iPad 3 with retina display.

Added * 2048 x 1536...

New graphics processor too.

New cameras. 5Mp, same as iphone 4s, HD 1080p video

with new screen I doubt it will stay at same cost as ipad2...like it happened with ipad1 and ipad2

voice dictation - am using that for a while now on android ;) mostly to send texts.

4G LTE.. Not much use for us though :(

Utter nonsense... why would anyone want an outward facing camera on the iPad? If you wanted to improve the camera do it on the one that matters, the one used for facetime meetings, web conferences, and video blog recording..

are some networks not testing it here ?

I beileve so, but will be a while before its implemented and will cost a fortune no doubt.
