Bought one of these last night on a spur of the moment ginda thing . Having a wee play about with it just now and I noticed the memory storage is telling me I only have 5GB remaining ,is this right ,I've only downloaded a couple of apps up to now!!! Anyone help me out here lol
 
Plug it into iTunes and check the space there.

Doesn't sound right.

Unless you've got it to sync to a pictures folder somewhere?
 
Just had a thought, you are looking at iCloud storage, not device storage.

iCloud let's you store 5gb of data in the sky, most likely you still have the full capacity left.

Go to settings>general>about on the device.
 
Ah right,makes sense that does lol. Trying to get to grips with apple product again ! .

So what does this "jailbreaking" allow you to do that you cant already?

But if you are making a claim under warranty you probably can't restore it because it is not working properly. When Apple take it apart they then find out that you have jailbroken it and your warranty could be invalidated.

You can tweak the settings to allow FaceTime over 3G, different themes/looks, allow vertical scrolling, have unlimited apps in a folder, use as a personal hotspot, Use Siri on iPad, Download apps that are no longer available on the App Store like VLC player to play AVIs directly on the iPad without converting.

That's just a few that I use.

On top of that you can download paid apps for free to try them before you buy them. That is the illegal bit though.

No risk whatsoever anymore.

I've found flex player to be amazing doing this and its free :) as for the others you've mentioned i don't really hump the ipad about it's too cumbersome for my liking im just using it as extra storage at the minute and keeping a few books and PDF's on there. As for Siri i've never actually used it on my 4s is it actually useful?

No, it's totally useless, but if you don't have a 4S and want to go d that out, you can :)
 
main reason to jailbreak is for SBsettings with is a convenient settings section that lives in the notification centre in latest IOS.

for storage, as long as you are not using it to store your camera RAW's you should be fine with a 16GB. i when on holiday for 1 week and used it for photo viewing, struggled with the storage as i've shot 16GB of stuff and ipad only had 8GB of free space.
