I downloaded this last night. Download took about 2 minutes and the install took probably 10 minutes and was trouble free. No2 Son who has a pretty crappy internet connection had loads of problems - after 2 or 3 hours trying to download, his iPad just gave up. He'll bring it round here to update over the weekend.

There aren't a lot of obvious differences, certainly not any that I'm likely to notice a benefit from, but overall the iPad is noticably snappier and very responsive.

Just plug your iPad into the PC -iTunes should open and tell you there's an upgrade avalable.

seriously considering Ipad, what do you use yours for Cedric? Im looking at browsing and mail at basic functions, but also presentation device for work etc.

Like most people I thought it was bit gimmicky at launch Matty, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I use it for pretty well everything except photo editing. Download Splashtop Remote and you can even access your computer files wirelessly. Get the camera kit for about 26 quid - it downloads fifty 50D raw files to the iPad in about 2 minutes and puts up thumbnails from which you can open a full file.

No 2 son runs an engineering business- he's only had the iPad for a few days and he's using it a lot in the office already doing all his quotes and stuff on it. You can print straight from it with a wireless compatible printer.

It's a great bit of kit with impressive battery life- should anything untoward befall it - I'd definitely be getting another.

Just to add, I downloaded the 3 iWork apps this week as I had a presentation to deliver and wanted on the iPad as a back up. Just as well as the projector failed, so the three of us went through the presentation on the iPad using Keynote. Bloody marvellous !!

At what point did it get stuck?

Did it go all the way through installation and the install bar stopped right at the end just before completion?

Can you all stop tempting me!!!!!

March 25th I need to be kept away from all computer stores who stock it!!!

Hmmm, the wife wants to go to Cambridge or Bristol. Both have apple stores, hmmmmm, well you know if I happen to pop in and somewhere has one, well you know, things happen.

Just so you know Bristol has 2 apple stores. They're addictive!

Mines's in the right forum though. Somebody give DF a slap!

I only own a 3gs iphone, not an ipad so it's in the right section

I would love an ipad though if any kind benefactor type people are out there.

I recently bought an iPad and I'm posting from it now. I love it and would definitely recommend it. It's more than just a toy, it's a great browsing experience. I use mine fro email, photos and browsing. Photos look amazing on the iPad :-)

I'll update mine tomorrow.

Since I "upgraded" to 4.3 my WiFi seems to have gone pants. I'll have to do some further tests them maybe investigate going back to the last build :(

thanks all...might well be investing in one of these for doing presentations, slacking and the like...

I'll hold off updating mine then just invade. I like to wait a while anyway incase there are reports of people having problems.

I've upgraded my iPhone 4 for 2 days and it's fine. Seems a lot snappier overally - before the update everything seemed a tad 'juddery'. May well have been it just needed a restart, i dont know.. Now it's back to the flawless interface I'm used to, I'm a happy chicken. Only really took advantage of the home sharing, which is great.

Btw though -there will be a new iOs for the 5 I guess?? Not just going to be 4.3?

Sent from my iPhone 4 using TP Forums

I'm not sure, but I think it never finished the download , but as I say he's on a really poor connection. The download took 2 minutes on my 50mb connection. Hopefully we'll get him sorted out tomorrow night.

I read that the gestures part of ios4.3 hasn't been included? YouTube it if you don't know what I'm on about lol. It looks great.

There's a way to get around that, not entirely sure how it's done but it involves xcode and a boolean value :)

Looks like personal hotspot works.

just linked my iMac via the iphone to send this

It is slow though, but better than nothing

( Not on a 3g connection at the moment )

ios4.3 is supposed to be one of the reasons the ipad 2 is 250% faster than the ipad 1 running ios 4.1, it's certainly snappier on mine.

I use mine at rugby. Shoot raw & small jpeg then the small jpegs load in about 12 secs per 10, handy when I shoot about 600-800 shots per match. The pics are then ready in minutes in the clubhouse and as I'm wizzing about checking them it generates lots of interest and I hand out the business cards telling them the photos will be up there later. Works brilliantly as a photo browser and marketing tool. Only editing at this stage is to zoom and crop with my fingers whilst displaying.

If it finished the download but the update never applied successfully and it keeps giving an error, try doing the update with no other USB devices plugged in, and also plug the Apple cable directly into a USB port not a hub, i had all sorts of issues with mine to start with because of that !
