Hi and Merry Xmas!!
The Mrs has got a shiny new iPad for Xmas and I want to play too. Is there any way that it can be configured to swap between users so when I log in it shows all my stuff and vice versa for the wife?
Thanks :)

No

The only tablets currently capable of this are Windows 8 tablets (and older less touch friendly versions of windows)

I believe multiuser will shortly be coming to android, no idea about iOS, but I doubt it will come.

No. The solution is multiple iPads! Will lead to fewer arguments in the long run too :)

Thanks both,

Looks like Apple have got thy one sewn up as usual then :(
I do love the products but the inflexibility really bugs me sometimes. Separate user id's seems to be a good idea to me but then I guess there would be no need for multiple iPads!

It would never occur to me to share an ipad. It would be as weird as sharing a phone!

If you both use the same sites you could set it so that one person used an app and the other used safari. This way you could keep settings more separate. One could use web mail for mail and other use Mail app or there is also another mail app called triage so you could each use a different one. Not as neat as multiple logins but may just do for now.

Guest mode/ child mode would be useful though.

I used to think it was frustrating until I realised it gave me the perfect excuse not to share my ipad!!

I use the wife's iPad, it's not perfect, but it works for what we do.
I use Hootsuite for Twitter and Facebook, have my own folder for bookmarks in Safari (could be even better by using Chrome, and leaving the wife to use Safari).

We also use Evernote for stuff we both need to sync and carry about - which also works great - but it's nowhere near how useful it's be with separate accounts.

Yep, seperate would be better for things like email, messages and contacts. I've set my own folder up for my apps that she wouldn't use (all photography ones of course :) )
