Ipad model contract apps. Anyone using one?

A few years ago there was a chap round here [met on a TP meet a couple of times but his name has managed to vanish into the pit at the back of my brain] who created a model release form that you could store on your phone and use if out street shooting. Now ok, it was simple, something along the lines of a pdf document as I recall, that could be signed on the spot - I seem to recall this was as touch screen phones were becoming pretty much the norm.

I know a few people used it, I had it on my phone though never had a need to use it, but it seemed a nifty idea to have for those rare occasions when it might be needed.

So, that long winded waffle brings me on to the point - does your app work well and do what you need it to do? If so, then why not give it a go, maybe in conjunction with paper contracts to begin with, just to be sure.

Next, I don't use an ipad, so forgive me if this isn't something you can do on one, but could your own paper version be loaded electronically onto the ipad and do the same thing?

Anyway, I know none of this actually answer the question, but just thoughts that came to my mind that you might, or possibly won't, find useful ;)

No it does basically the app is a few quid, so all I will lose is the price of a beer if it doesn't work. Good point about paper backup while trying it out, that is a point I never thought about.

Hi, There's an app for iPad etc called "PCM Lite", obviously the lite version is limited but free to try. It might be what your looking for. Hope this helps.

I asked about this a while back, but got little response
I should really give one a try, but hate buying rubbish apps so if anyone has any feedback on one they use, advice appreciated here too

I usually avoid answering these threads because I don't use the model release contract.

But I do use Photographers Contract Maker Pro, and I love it.

You can load in your current contract if you prefer it to the built in templates.

Basically, you fill in the details, in a very iOS way, and then the model / customer signs the screen. the app then emails copies of the contract to you and the model/customer.

There are apps that just do model releases, but PCM will let you have many contracts, and comes with a photoshoot, model release and 2nd shooter contract pre-prepared.

Its easy to set up your contracts with your logo etc.

I can tell you from a customer contract perspective, clients love it.

That sounds good Phil, will check it out. I've been meaning to around to this for ages and this sounds like it would do just about everything I need

I use iRelease lite. It's great. You fill in the details, take a snap shot of the model, they then sign it on your iPad or iPhone, and a copy gets automatically emailed to both the model and yourself. You can then print it out and keep it on your file. It is customisable. It's great that it keeps a snapshot of the model with it for future reference.
Dean.
