My mum is going to be getting an iPad for Christmas, so i'd like to get a case to protect it. It needs to be light, not bulky, and mainly just protect it when in a bag.

Can anyone recommend one?

Go to Play.com they have stacks of cases. Got a great deal only last week Don't forget the iPad2 has the new style covers available, but that only protects the front

I've got this one (well 2 actually, as I have the black and the tan)

The first one, when the iPad 2 was just out, cost something like £28, I think the second one was £16

If its for in a bag then a basic neoprene sleeve is the way to go. There's plenty of ones designed specifically for the iPad.

I have the same as Graham (in tan). Bought it off eBay brand new. £20 IIRC. Quick delivery too.

Neoprene case might be better though, depending on what you have in the bag with it and whether you want it to be in a case when holding/using it.

I have bought and tried several cases each about the £50 mark and then found this and it has stayed on... Slim light and you hardly notice its there, it protects both the front and back with out taking anything away from the beautiful design and most importantly works with the screen auto on /off. Marware Microshell Folio.

Colcasac as recommended from Neil, gives fantastic protection, I have mine with the official iPad cover on it. I got it from Amazon and it was here within a week :)

:D Amazon is the first place I check for anything, was a good price as well.

I have a blackberry playbook and i usually just use the basic sillicone case, If your looking to be more creative i've seen hollowed out books lined with felt to make a good ipad case...
