Hi,
Are there any apps out there that allow you to control your camera via your iPad/iPhone?
Or least see the view finder on the iPads screen.
Could this be done? Im sure it could be.

I found this, http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/dslr-camera-remote-hd/id417693635?mt=8
Has anyone used it?

Id rather an app that connects the i device straight to the DSLR.
Any thoughts or input?

Erm, why would you want to?

Never used this App, though OnOne software are very well known in the Photoshop arena for quality products, so I'd be surprised if it didn't work well.

I use Shutter Snitch quite often to transfer images wirelessly from camera to iPad.

Is the app any good? I think the answer is in the description "simply connect the camera to any wifi enabled computer" zoo as you donthat you can use the computer why do you need the iPad?

Yup, played with the free version when there was one.
You connect your camera to a pc, which runs the server software.
The ipad/iphone runs the client which then allows you to see/control the camera settings.

However, the reason I didn't buy it was all that functionality was available from the Canon Eos utility provided I remained tethered

There's an ongoing little project here that has some potential if you're running an Android OS.

Yep, I've got DSLRemote @ £14.00 and it's a PITA to use and set up. You have to install a server program to the computer that you will use to connect the camera two, then wirelessly connect your iPad to the computer that is physically tethered to the camera. As has been said, easier to use the DPP that came with my camera, as all you really get is the chance to use the iPad as a really expensive remote.
