Yep, I do like it, it's a lot more comfortable to hold & use for lengthy periods as it's considerably lighter than previous versions, same length as previous, loses around 1/2 inch in width and thinner, it feels almost Kindle like to hold.

It's feels a lot faster than the iPad 4th Generation, although the screen resolution looks the same (as it should)

What is noticeable is the increased connection speeds.

Speedtest result for desktop (ethernet), iPad 4th generation and iPad air (Wi-fi), roughly 10mb/s increase in D/L speeds.

I would agree with everything you've said, on paper it doesn't seem a huge jump, but in use everything is just so much quicker.

PDFs in iBooks are hugely quicker, opening and rendering is a magnitude quicker, downloading a file from the net (for example the full RM costs book) used to take minutes to process and then render in iBooks, now it's only 20-30 seconds.

I can't believe how much nicer the shape is to hold, much more comfortable.

I bought one for my Dad, it's very nice. It feels less solid than the previous iPads, but that's to be expected as it's a lot less hefty. I don't have an iPad myself (I have a Nexus 10) so I've got nothing to compare the speed with, but it all seems very snappy and smooth.

Got mine today and was most disappointed when I opened it... The back cover has a number of scuff marks on it, there is a small sticky mark on the top and a number of marks around the edge of the screen. Amazingly it was still sealed when I got it so presumably came from apple like this. Called Tesco who I bought it from, they are now out of stock so can only refund on it... Time to look for another deal on one.

Decided to look at it again in the cold light of day and it looked worse... two clear scratches on the back (each about 3-4mm long) and a number of scuffs too. Decided to call Tescos again (The £30 off promo coupled with clubcard points made it the best deal I could find) and see if there was any way they could get it sorted. Turns out the guy I spoke to yesterday clearly couldn't be bothered to do his job properly! The lady today was very apologetic and has already managed to get me a replacement sorted (should get it on Monday) so hopefully all will be well with that one and I will be able to see what it is like.
