Hello all,

Have treated myself & bought an Ipad 2 - wasn't going to, but just couldn't stop myself !! ;)

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a sim / provider ???

Majority of the time will be on wifi (which it has), 3G only needed very occassionally (max of 1 hour a month download).

Done a couple of searches this morning, nothing any good found.

Any ideas please ??

Giffgaff seems to be quite good.. PAYG and uses O2 network. You have to order the microsim as otherwise you'd need to cut down a full sim. www.giffgaff.co.uk

If you used it a lot and had reasonable coverage with them then three would be the best.
 
Three PAYG data plan would be the best bet.

Alternatively look at a MIFI (should of got a WIFI only Ipad ;) ). You insert your sim card into the MIFI, it connects to the internet and creates a wireless hotspot so that you can connect 5 devices. It has a 5 hour battery life or can run off a usb port. I have one and I can use it for my tablet, laptop and phone all at the same time.

This has the benefit that anything can use the data, not just your ipad

Am really disappointed in Orange, our mobile are with them & have been for years - but they only seem to cater for medium & high download users.

That's the route I went down, even with the new "hi-speed" version (the older model can be picked up for under £50 now) it worked out cheaper than buying the 3g-enabled Ipad. :D
 
i just tether my ipad to my iphone with mywi and away i go using my iphone data allowance
 
T-mobile PAYG SIM, then buy a six month data bundle for £20.

Cheapest deal I've ever found :)

I pay £15 for 3gb of download from Orange a month on a pay as you go simm card as an extra on my account, you can kill it off any time with zero notice.

Have you spoken to them directly or gone into an Orange shop ?
 
Hi Chris, no - must admit I haven't spoken with them, but looked on the site - this 3gb per month was the lowest & I just won't use it.
 
From what I remember the T-mobile deal is for 500Mb / month which for £3.33 a month is a steal :D
 
I have been using a 3 sim in my iPad for well over a year now. It was simple to cut down a normal 3 sim to micro. Once a month I add the £5 internet add-on, it allows for 2GB of use and as long as you don't abuse it (it's supposed to be used in a phone only) 3 don't seem to mind. Even if they did, it's easy enough to get another 3 sim and start again.
