The other day someone here didn't know you can attach a photo from within the mail app. So I thought we can share some stuff, that maybe a little obscure.
For example. I accidentally threw away my Carrefour coupon, it's worth 19€! They told me yesterday that they can't do a reprint of it yet. Now I am the worlds biggest sieve-head, my memory is crap. So I've set my iPhone to remind me to go and speak to customer services when I am next there. The phone will know by using the location services and then issue the reminder. That's useful to me!

Does anyone else have any tips or tricks?

Not so much a tip Ricardo but, check out the new YouTube app. It is brilliant, with so many functions at the swipe of a finger.

Have you got your iPhone 5 yet and if so, what are your early impressions of it? Mine is due for delivery today, late afternoon, and I'm looking forward to trying the new camera.

Andy

I'd be grateful for the info on attaching an image from inside mail :)

I always end up doing multiple mails from images in photo stream.

Ah! I'm still on iOS 4, so that might explain it! :)

Got YouTube. I've got the 4S so won't be upgrading, but my wife will be upgrading from the 4. I've not seen one yet, they don't get launched here till tomorrow.

What's wrong with it, apart from the silence?

You must have seen screen grabs all over the internet? Towns wrongly named and in the wrong place etc? Appalling satellite imagery. Compare, for example, High Wycombe in iOS 6 maps and in Google Maps.

Waiting till they sort out the mapping fiasco before you update?

Gotta say I am looking forward to the Google Maps app being launched. I think navigation in iOS is ok, but basic. A good starting point though.

Nope, actually just updated to IOS 6 last night and was just having a wee play.

Palm Springs to Phoenix looks OK as does Alloa to Alva in Scotland. Just can't get any spoken directions, so far!

Time for a wee google methinks.

Surely the navigation only gives you voice turn by turn when you're on the move?

Edit, just tried. If you program a route you will hear the first instruction spoken. Obviously you won't here the next one till you arrive at the next turn point.

Disagree with first instruction, I was expecting it as you described but utter silence:bang:

Yes, Helen Reddy still sounds good:D

I was wondering what the fuss was regarding the problems with the maps, then I tried it with my home address. Looks like I live in a swamp!

Hmmm I dunno, I always get the first instruction. Strange.

Do you not have Navigation Voice Volume at the top?

No Marc, not a sausage:'(

START, OVERVIEW and END

and a wee direction arrow:)

We are talking iPad 3 here?

Anyway tea-time calls:love:

Siri is available from assistive touch now

you can also directly insert pictures into email

you can access siri even if the handset is passcode locked, you can disable this.

You are Shrek in disguise and I claim my £10.

and how is Princess Fiona these days?

4G has nothing to do with it. It's a mystery!

I suppose you are strictly correct, but the lack of 3G (or any other way to connect to wifi) means the GPS / Maps doo dah will never work.

Straight from an Apple shop guru this afternoon:'(

Yeah my iPad 2 is wifi only and the navigation voice option isn't there. iOS is device aware.

pleased I bought a 5 rather than a 4 as voice navigation will be fun to try

Navfree App - proper satnav with maps held on device, no data - works a treat on my iPhone 4:-)
Much better than Ios Maps - where I live the map is in black and white:-(
