At first glance this is a little bit more in price than the Western Digital 500GB drive posted on here (and various other forums) over the last few week. However, this drive has had better reviews and looks a lot better than the WD.

Comet have this priced at £69.99 but they also have a 10% off code which you can use against this bringing the price down to £62.99 (either delivered free, or you can reserve and collect in store)

I bought one this week and am very impressed. IMO a few things that stand out are;

on/off switch on the back of the drive
very sleek design
small footprint, so takes up very little space

The link to the drive is: iOmega 500GB

And the discount code is: 10DATANET

:eek: Holy s.......! :eek::eek: I'll be down at Comet then! :gag:

Thanks for the heads-up

Gawd, why cant they do a deal on drives with firewire:(

usb2 is faster than firewire

dixons have a maxtor 500gb for £65

going to print off the site and take it to local pcworld for a hope to be price match ;-)

Ive had an iOmega 500GB External Drive for a long while very good

Odd question but can you plug one of these into a PS3 and use it as a viewer for your pics and videos etc. I do stream photos to the PS3 currently from my PC but even on a 200mbps connection they take a while to flick through and this could be a nice alternative?

got the maxtor 500gb for £65, from pcworld, was priced matched with dixon online
as pcworld had it for £80
